We discuss how one can extend to hypersurfaces with isolated singularities the methods of Gerkmann, Abbott-Kedlaya-Roe and Lauder for counting points on smooth hypersurfaces.

Counting Rational Points on Cubic Hypersurfaces
Let X ⊂ P be a geometrically integral cubic hypersurface defined over Q, with singular locus of dimension 6 dimX − 4. Then the main result in this paper is a proof of the fact that X(Q) contains Oε,X(B ) points of height at most B.
متن کاملEnumeration of singular algebraic curves
We enumerate plane algebraic curves with one singular point of any (prescribed) singularity type. It is shown how to generalize the method to the singular hypersurfaces and some cases of enumeration of singular hypersurfaces are solved.
متن کاملEnumeration of uni-singular algebraic hypersurfaces
We enumerate complex algebraic hypersurfaces in Pn, of a given (high) degree with one singular point of a given singularity type. Our approach is to compute the (co)homology classes of the corresponding equi-singular strata in the parameter space of hypersurfaces. We suggest an inductive procedure, based on intersection theory combined with liftings and degenerations. The procedure computes the...
متن کاملOn the Classification of Certain Singular Hypersurfaces in CP
Hypersurfaces in complex projective spaces defined by homogeneous polynomials are important topological objects, arising naturally in algebra, geometry and topology. It was first noted by Thom, the diffeomorphism type of smooth hypersurfaces depends only on the degree of the defining polynomial; i.e., two n-dimensional smooth hypersurfaces in CPn+1 are diffeomorphic if and only if they have equ...
متن کاملA Splitting Criterion for an Isolated Singularity at X = 0 in a Family of Even Hypersurfaces
in a family of even hypersurfaces Roy Smith and Robert Varley Abstract Assume given a family of even local analytic hypersurfaces, whose central fiber has an isolated singularity at x = 0 which is not an ordinary double point. We prove that if the family is sufficiently general, for instance if the general fiber is smooth and the general singular fiber has only ordinary double points, then the ...
